First Christian Reformed Church

Chatham, Ontario

Thank you for visiting our website. We invite you to take some time to explore and get to know our family here at First Church.
Here at First Church we are more that just a group of believers who come together for worship. We are a family, bound together in Jesus Christ.
We invite you to participate in our ministries and programs, all of which strive to bring us together in true fellowship, strengthen our faith, further the Kingdom, and give glory to God.

We call ourself:

Christian because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers.
We recognize as fellow-Christians all people who accept the teachings of the Bible as summarized in the Apostle’s Creed.
Reformed because we're part of that historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of 16th-century reformer John Calvin, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots.
Church because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
We often call ourselves "the First CRC of Chatham" for short.

Goal #3 of our Church’s 4 goals is “To encourage, equip, train and mentor members in leadership roles” Well it may seem like a lofty goal but it really isn’t. As we as First church approach another “teaching” time this fall, lets encourage each other to reach that goal. Last week there was a request for a couple of cadet counsellors, and earlier still a request for Sunday school teachers. What an opportunity and blessing to see growth. So let’s reflect and see where God could perhaps use us and the gifts He has given us. Let us too keep encouraging each other in our faith walk as we labour in His vineyard. .
